Canadiens' Mike Condon Will Be Sporting Patriots-Themed Mask For Winter Classic

BOSTON (CBS) -- Mike Condon may be in net for the Montreal Canadiens Friday at Gillette Stadium, but it will be very clear that he's a Patriots fan to everyone watching.

Condon, a Holliston native who played at Belmont Hill, will be sporting a very cool Patriots-themed helmet when the Canadiens take on the Boston Bruins in the 2016 Winter Classic.

"I grew up 30 minutes from the stadium, so we were a huge Patriots family," Condon told NHL.com. "And my dad used to work security details for the Pats, so I spent a lot of time at Gillette Stadium."

Condon's helmet features Bill Belichick, complete with head coach's famous hoodie, on the left side and quarterback Tom Brady on the right. Between the two are New England's four Super Bowl trophies with last year's team motto: Do Your Job.

The 25-year-old rookie is 10-9-3 with a 2.48 goals against average in place of the injured Carey Price. Bruins fans are hoping Condon doesn't do his job on Friday, but if he does get the best of the B's, at least it will be at the hands of a kid with local roots.

Tune in to Friday's Winter Classic between the Bruins and Canadiens on 98.5 The Sports Hub — the flagship station of the Boston Bruins. Coverage begins at 12:30pm on Friday, with Felger & Mazz broadcasting live from Foxboro following the game. You can also hear the Winter Classic Alumni Game on Thursday, December 31 beginning at 3:45pm!
