BU Freshman Killed During Visit Home To Mexico City

BOSTON (CBS) – A Boston University freshman was killed during a visit home to Mexico during spring break last week, according to the university.

Diego Fernandez Montes was killed in a robbery while taking a taxi in his home of Mexico City, BU Today reported Tuesday.

His funeral was held Sunday. Counseling has been made available to students.

"In reality," his father told BU Today, "I'm very much at peace, because Diego was at peace. He was at peace with everyone. He didn't have any qualms, any regrets. If you asked me if I knew anybody who was spiritually prepared to take off from this world, it was Diego."
