Marchand To Miss Friday's Game Against Blue Jackets

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston Bruins will be without forward Brad Marchand for Friday night's game against the Blue Jackets.

Marchand was back at practice on Thursday, but did not travel with the team to Columbus. The winger missed Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Blues and did not practice on Wednesday with an undisclosed injury.

"We're going to give him some more time," said Bruins head coach Claude Julien. "But he felt much better, so he's doing better day-to-day."

Marchand  suffered the injury five days ago against the Carolina Hurricanes. In his absence, Matt Fraser has been filling in on the left side of the Boston second line with Patrice Pergeron and Reilly Smith.

In 19 games this season, Marchand has five goals and six assists for Boston. Four of his goals have come in his last eight games played.
