Bruins, Canadiens To Auction Off Game-Worn Winter Classic Jerseys To Benefit Denna Laing's Recovery

BOSTON (CBS) -- One day before the Bruins and Canadiens took the ice at Gillette Stadium for this year's Winter Classic, Denna Laing stepped on that same ice with her Boston Pride teammates for the Women's Winter Classic against Les Canadiennes of Montreal.

Laing unfortunately suffered a spinal cord injury during that game, and now, the two historic rivals are joining together to help her.

Both the Bruins and Canadiens will wear their Winter Classic jerseys when they face off on Tuesday night in Montreal. After the game, those game-worn jerseys will be autographed and put up for auction, with all proceeds going to support Laing in her recovery and rehabilitation.

The auctions will go live at 7:05 p.m. ET, and bids can be made at auctions.nhl.com/DennaLaing.

Laing's story has drawn the interest of celebrities like Mark Wahlberg, as well as former BU hockey player Travis Roy, and the Denna Laing Team has been posting updates of her recovery progress on a Facebook page.
