Brookline Town Meeting To Vote On Proposal To Reject Boston 2024 Olympics

BOSTON (CBS) - Town officials in Brookline say they were never consulted about neighboring Boston's 2024 Olympic bid.

Now it will come up for a vote Thursday.

Brookline town meeting has an article on its agenda that calls on voters to reject a summer Olympics in Boston in 2024.

Meeting member Alisa Jonas told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Boston 2024 couldn't be bothered to contact the town.

"It was very hard to get in contact with a human and finally we received an email from a representative saying they couldn't have someone here, but they were happy we were having discussions," she said.

Even if Brookline formally opposes the games, it won't have a direct impact on Boston's bid.

There has been no comment from Boston 2024.
