Brockton Teacher On Leave After Student Reports Sexual Assault

BROCKTON (CBS) -- A Brockton High School teacher is under investigation after a student reported being sexually assaulted by that teacher, officials said Friday.

The teacher was placed on paid administrative leave Thursday amid allegations of misconduct, according to the mayor's office. No information has been released about the teacher.

The alleged assault took place Tuesday, and the student came to school and talked to a guidance counselor, said Bob Buckley, the Brockton mayor's chief of staff. The school's police officers notified Brockton police of the allegations.

Parents were notified of the incident Friday night via a phone call from the superintendent of schools.
