Brockton Infant Found Unresponsive Oct. 26 Dies

BOSTON (CBS) -- A 4-month-old Brockton girl has died after police say her mother apparently fell asleep on top of her last week.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz announced the death of Pepper Olsen on Sunday and said authorities are investigating.

The baby's father called 911 when he came home and found the baby lifeless.

A neighbor, Diane Doyle, performed CPR until help arrived.

"She wasn't breathing, she was sort of gray," Doyle said. "I took her, laid her on the couch and started breathing into her mouth."

The infant did not respond so Doyle tried chest compressions until EMTs arrived and rushed the baby to the hospital.
