Elderly Man Struck And Killed By Commuter Rail Train

BROCKTON (CBS) – An elderly man was struck and killed by a Commuter Rail train Saturday morning in Brockton.

Transit Police and EMS were called to the Brockton Commuter Rail station where a 75-year-old man was struck around 7:15 a.m.

Police say the man was hit while walking over the Middleboro Line crossing at the station.

A preliminary investigation shows the station's crossing warning system, flashing lights and horn were working at the time of the incident.

Transit Police said there were 37 people on board the train.
