Bridgewater State Police Find Sexual Assault Claim 'Unfounded'

BRIDGEWATER (CBS) – Police have closed an investigation into a reported sexual assault at Bridgewater State University, calling the claims "unfounded."

The incident was reported on Monday night after a student said she was assaulted in a parking garage near the Rondileau Campus Center.

Police were given a description of a suspect and released a composite sketch.

But after its investigation, the Bridgewater State University Police Department said it determined the sexual assault claim was unfounded.

There will be no charges related to the case. Police said the university will conduct its own investigation into the incident.
