Brandon Spikes Trashes Patriots On Twitter, Calls Time In New England '4 Years A Slave'

BOSTON (CBS) -- Brandon Spikes doesn't like the New England Patriots. This is not new information. But the former-Patriots linebacker took to Twitter on Wednesday to express just how much he despises his former team.

Spikes broke some schedule news via Twitter, saying he's excited to play a Thanksgiving game as well as a Monday Night Football game against the Packers this upcoming season, his first as a member of the Buffalo Bills.

But what is Spikes most looking forward to? That would be beating the Patriots. Twice.

"It's icing on my cake to hand the #Patriots two big L's this year," Spikes tweeted, adding the hashtag "#justwatch."

The Bills, of course, have not had the best success against the Patriots during the Bill Belichick era. The Bills won the season opener over the Pats in 2003, but they've beaten the Patriots just once more in their 21 meetings since. Overall, since Belichick took over as New England's coach, the Patriots are 25-3 against the Bills.

The linebacker often tweeted subtle hints that he wasn't enamored with his situation while he was on the Patriots payroll, and he sent another tweet along those lines on Wednesday.

"4 years a slave," Spikes tweeted.

The 26-year-old spent his first four NFL seasons with the New England Patriots, after the team drafted him in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft.

Spikes immediately received backlash for his string of tweets, but he appeared to be amused by the response.
