Braintree Teen Arrested For 'Foolish Dangerous Stunt' On T Tracks

BOSTON (CBS) - A 19-year-old Braintree man was arrested by transit police on Sunday night for trespassing at the MBTA's Andrew Square Station.

Patrik Finnerty was taken into custody after police said they received a call that Finnerty had walked onto the northbound tracks, climbed the dividing wall and crossed onto the southbound platform.

When officers arrived, they found Finnerty sitting on a bench on the southbound platform waiting for a train. He told police that he was just trying to get to the other side.

"Due to the foolish and dangerous actions of this individual, train travel had to be suspended in both directions and electricity to the tracks was shut off," transit police said in a statement.

It is expected that Finnerty will be arraigned on Monday in South Boston District Court.
