Brady Misses Thursday Practice; Expected To Return Friday

BOSTON (CBS) -- Quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Martellus Bennett did not practice with the Patriots on Thursday, as Brady continues to nurse a knee injury suffered against the Seattle Seahawks while Bennett continues to recover from an ankle injury suffered in Week 7 against the Buffalo Bills.

Barring a major setback, Brady is expected to return to practice on Friday and play against the Jets on Sunday, a source told the Boston Globe's Jim McBride.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski was listed as a limited participant in Thursday's practice as he continues to recover from a chest injury suffered against the Seahawks. According to ESPN's Dianna Russini, Gronkowski is expected to miss Sunday's road game against the New York Jets and return in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams at Gillette Stadium.

Special teams captain Matthew Slater also sat out Thursday's practice as he nurses a foot injury suffered against the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday. Among the other Patriots who were limited on Thursday are receivers Julian Edelman (foot) and Chris Hogan (back), who was inactive for last Sunday's game in San Francisco.
