Boy Seriously Injured Playing With Fireworks In Dorchester Home, Police Say

BOSTON (CBS) -- A 10-year-old boy's hand was seriously injured Saturday night in his Dorchester home, police said.

Police responded to the second floor apartment on Talbot Ave. shortly before 9:30p.m. Police were initially told by those in the apartment that a microwave blew up.  They disproved that story and instead believe the boy may have been playing with fireworks.

Police say a parent was home at the time the incident occurred.

The boy was taken to Children's Hospital. No word on the extent of his injuries.
