Boy Drowns In Worcester Lake

WORCESTER (CBS) -- A teenage boy has drowned Sunday night, the Worcester Police Department confirmed.

The 17-year-old, unidentified victim was pulled from Lake Quinsigamond and transported to UMass Medical Center before 8 p.m.

It took dive teams about 15-20 minutes to find the teen.

"I saw someone drowned in the water and then the police and the fire department," described Baha Naser, an onlooker to WBZ-TV. "And then they took him out."

Worcester Fire Department tweeted that their thoughts were with the family of the boy.
