Toys For Tots To Replace Christmas Presents Destroyed In Fire

BOURNE (CBS) – A Cape Cod charity is receiving the Christmas miracle it had been hoping for.

Last week, a Bourne fire destroyed 70 percent of toys donated to the Cape Cod Military Support Foundation.

The gifts had been collected for the annual Operation Santa Christmas Party, scheduled for December 11.

Marine Toys for Tots confirmed Thursday that it will replace the thousands of presents that were destroyed in the fire.

Toys for Tots is just beginning its seasonal drive now. They will use incoming donations and toys left over from last season to replace the lost items.

An account for donations has also been set up at the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. Anyone who wants to drop off toys can do so at any of the bank's branches.

Donations can also be made online at capecodmilitaryfoundation.com.
