Coggeshall made his getaway while the arresting officer was securing his firearm at the station, police said.

"During this short time, COGGESHALL was able to slip out of his handcuffs, squeeze through the very small partition opening separating the front of the cruiser from the prisoner compartment, and exit the cruiser using the front driver's side door," police said.

Coggeshall then scaled a nearby chain-link fence and ran out of sight.

Police appealed to the public for help in finding Coggeshall, but he turned himself in at the department on Sunday at 4:50 a.m.
