Boston's City Hall Plaza To Get Makeover For Holidays

BOSTON (CBS) -- Boston's City Hall Plaza will soon debut a new look for the holidays next month.

"Boston Winter at City Hall Plaza" is being described as "Boston's Ultimate Holiday Destination."

Starting on December 2, you'll be able to skate on a nearly 11,000-foot path which will be in place until next February and shop inside a holiday market. In addition, you'll find an urban lodge and other attractions, such as posing for a picture with Santa.

This is the first event in a three-year seasonal activation plan for the large outdoor space adjacent to City Hall. The City of Boston Property Management Department and Boston Garden Development Corp., a subsidiary of Delaware North, are working together on the project.

It's free and open to the public, with ticketed featured events. Tickets for those events go on sale November 14.
