The sun will return in a big way this weekend

Next Weather: WBZ mid-morning forecast for May 4, 2023

BOSTON - May The Fourth Be With You!

Tough weather day. High temperatures Thursday will hover mostly in the upper 40s. Consider that our average high for May 4th is 63 degrees and the record lowest maximum temperature for today was 45 in 1987, I think we can say this is about as bad as it gets by May 4th standards.

So, let's just block Thursday out and press the NEXT Weather button!

Friday will be a bit better. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with a few isolated sprinkles, but temperatures will show some improvement. Late in the day there is a chance that the sun will start to emerge!

It will be Cinco De Mayo Friday, so those headed out for an evening margarita will stay dry.  There will also be a full flower moon! You should be able to catch a glimpse at night as the clouds start to depart.

As for this weekend, FINALLY, the sun returns in a big way and highs both days will be near 70 degrees!

It won't be perfect, there will be some clouds here and there, but, compared to the weather we have been experiencing, I think we can call it a WINNER!

For the first time in a while, you will be able to comfortably mow the lawn and stand at a baseball, lacrosse or soccer game without shivering!

The pattern ahead, into next week, will definitely be much improved from this week but, again, not perfect.

While next week should feature lots of sunshine, I do think there will be cooling, coastal breezes on several days.
