Boston Teacher Wins $150,000 And Donates It To Her School

BOSTON (CBS) - A Boston teacher won a big money prize and then gave it to her students. Nikki Bollerman is a third grade teacher at UP Academy in Dorchester.

She entered a Capital One contest that asked what her wish for others was this holiday season.

The company granted her wish: a book for each of her students, then gave her the grand prize of $150,000.

The 26-year-old then donated the money to the school.

"It's the season of giving and I was able to grant this wonderful wish," Bollerman said. "I hope that maybe other teachers or other people can grant wishes themselves, and maybe grant the wishes of their students."

Bollerman says she doesn't know how the school will spend the money, but she's thinking it would help fund a computer lab for her students.
