SUV Crashes Into Cemetery, Takes Down Multiple Headstones

BOSTON (CBS) -- First responders in Boston blocked off a portion of Walk Hill Street at the corner of Harvard Street after an S.U.V. crashed into the cemetery Tuesday afternoon.

The Ford Explorer hit an electrical box before continuing into New Calvary Cemetery. Photos from the scene showed that at least two headstones appeared to be knocked over. The S.U.V's windshield was smashed and the front bumper was also ripped off.

According to Boston Police, the crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. One person was injured and they were taken to a local hospital.

The S.U.V. was towed away around 4 p.m.

No word yet on how serious those injuries are. It is unclear what caused the crash.
