Boston Police Say South End Hit-And Run Victim Has Life-Threatening Injuries

BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Police have identified the driver allegedly involved in a hit-and-run in the South End that left a person with life-threatening injuries early Monday morning.

The unidentified man was walking on Washington Street when a vehicle hit him around 1:30 a.m.

Police say the suspect has not yet been located.

A woman who lives in the area said she heard a "really loud thud" at the time of the crash.

"We saw a man on the ground and two other people around him, just really panicked and screaming," she told WBZ-TV, asking that she not be identified. "One of his shoes was all the way over on the other side of the street. The car hit him pretty severely. He had a gash on his side hip, but the bump on his forehead just looked really, really bad"

Washington Street was shut down from Thorndike Street to Northampton Street for about four hours overnight for the investigation.
