Boston Police Officer In Italian Prime Minister's Motorcade Injured During Crash

BOSTON (CBS) – A police officer who was working as a part of the Italian Prime Minister's motorcade in advance of his visit to Boston was hospitalized Thursday morning after a crash.

The crash took place around 10:30 a.m. in front of the Museum of Science.

Initially, Boston Police said the crash involved Hillary Clinton's motorcade. She is scheduled to be in Boston Thursday night.

But later in the afternoon, police clarified that the motorcade actually belonged to Italy's Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi.

The officer, who was not identified, was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A police motorcycle could be seen on its side in the road following the accident.

The motorcycle was towed from the scene and another car was loaded onto a tow truck bed.

Boston Police did not say what caused the crash.
