Boston Police K-9 Puppy Needs A Name

BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Police Department has a new member of its K-9 Unit. Now they're asking for the public's help naming the four-legged officer.

The 9-week-old Belgian Shepherd is a male who was groomed for patrol, Boston police say.

Specifically, the K-9 will be responsible for detecting explosive devices.

Troy Caisey, the head K-9 trainer for the Boston Police Department, said name suggestions should be strong, commanding, and no more than two syllables.

Caisey gave examples of Tuco, Bronson and Solo.

Anyone with name suggestions is asked to contact Boston Police.

If your name is chosen, you'll receive a Boston Police Department patch.
