Boston Police ID Man Shot & Killed By Officers In South End

BOSTON (CBS) - Boston police have identified a man who was shot and killed by an officer on Saturday.

Remis M. Andrews, 38, of Boston was shot and killed after allegedly lunging at officers with knives while they were attempting to arrest him.

The shooting took place after police received a 911 call from a woman who said she was being assaulted by her boyfriend at 77 Lenox St. in the South End.

The Boston Police Firearm Discharge Investigation Team and the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office are investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Boston police.
