Divers Pull Body From Muddy River In Back Bay

BOSTON (CBS) – The body of a man was pulled from the Muddy River near Charlesgate and Commonwealth Avenue in the Back Bay Wednesday morning.

Boston Firefighters were called to the area just after 6 a.m. Divers went into the river and found the man. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

State Police said he was 33-years old and was living in a homeless camp near the river. His name has not been made public.

It's not clear yet how long he was in the water or how he ended up there.

"At this time evidence suggests the death was accidental but the investigation is ongoing. We currently are making efforts to locate next-of-kin," State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said in a statement.
