Boston Police Department K-9 Officer Rocky Dies After Brief Illness

BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Police Department is mourning the loss of K-9 officer Rocky.

Rocky, who was 7, died after a short illness, the department announced on Wednesday. Rocky worked for the Boston Police Department for six years on both patrols and explosives detections.

"His handler and partner noted Rocky was a great dog who enjoyed working and will be dearly missed," the department said in a statement.
