Boston Performance Of Cult Classic 'Newsies' Features Two Local Actors

BOSTON (CBS) – What started as a box office flop became a cult classic on the big screen and is now impressing Boston audiences at the Opera House.

The Tony-award winning musical "Newsies" brings to life the true story of a turn-of-the-century strike when newsboys rebelled against the publishers who tried to jack up the price of the papers.

There are two local actors in the cast.

Michael Ryan from Braintree is in the show and Needham's Jacob Kemp plays one of the lead roles.

Newsies is at the Boston Opera House through July 5.
