Boston PD: Man Held Lighter To Gas Pump, Threatened To Blow Up Station

BOSTON (CBS) --- Police are investigating after a man held a lighter to a gas pump and said he was going to blow up a Southie gas station.

Police were called to the Mobile Gas Station on Monday afternoon as the man was walking away, down Mass Avenue. After searching the man, police found a lighter in the suspect's pocket.

Officers brought the man back to the gas station and several witnesses identified him as the same person who had made the threats minutes earlier.

Police brought the man to the hospital for evaluation. There's no word on whether he'll face charges.
