Driver Of Boston-To-NYC Bus Killed, 18 Hurt In Crash

NORWALK, Conn. (AP) — Police say the driver of a coach bus died and 18 of his passengers were injured when the vehicle struck a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 in Connecticut.

Police identified the driver of the Boston-to-New York City bus as 32-year-old Henry Woolfson, of Hackensack, New Jersey.

He was pinned when the bus crashed in Norwalk on Wednesday afternoon.

Crews took 15 minutes to extricate Woolfson. He was transported to Norwalk Hospital where he later died.

Fire officials say 18 of the 41 passengers suffered injuries not considered life-threatening. Most were taken to Norwalk Hospital and a few were taken to Stamford Hospital.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.

The accident was cleared around 9 p.m. Wednesday. State police are investigating.
