Boston Mayor Walsh Issues Order For City Data To Be Posted Online

BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Mayor Marty Walsh is making an effort to make more information from City Hall easily available to the people of Boston.

In an effort to increase transparency, Walsh has signed an executive order to open up city data to the public by posting it online.

Information on everything from emergency response times to crime stats to liquor licenses will be accessible over the web.

City Councilor Michelle Wu was quick to offer her praise for the decision, noting that the sharing of data could help increase efficiency and stimulate creativity, helping the city find new ways to tackle old problems.
