Gusty winds expected to linger throughout Massachusetts into early Tuesday

Next Weather: WBZ Evening Forecast For March 11, 2024

BOSTON - The WBZ Weather Team is continuing the NEXT Weather Alert today due to persistent, gusty winds.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for all of southern New England through 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

CBS Boston

Winds will be strongest through Monday afternoon, frequently gusting between 30-50 mph.

There will be a noticeable decrease overnight, but winds will stay active through the day Tuesday.

Now for some good news. After a very wet start to March, we get a bit of a reprieve over the next few days.

Rain has fallen on 7 of the first 10 days of this month, making it the 3rd wettest start to March on record in Boston.

CBS Boston

Not only will we stay dry through Thursday, but temperatures will also be rising each day as well.

Highs will be in the 50s tomorrow and some spots inland could hit 60 on Wednesday and Thursday.

One caveat, there will be seabreezes Wednesday and Thursday, so the immediate coastline will likely be stuck in the 40s (welcome to spring).

CBS Boston

Speaking of spring. Another sure sign that it is coming on - allergies. For the first time this year, we are seeing some measurable pollen levels in the City.

These will continue to rise in the coming weeks and also spread to the suburbs as well as things begin to bloom.

CBS Boston

Finally, our next rain threat arrives before the week is done. Friday looks like a wet day and I am a bit concerned about an unsettled pattern lingering into the weekend.

Not expecting a weekend washout, but there will likely be some periods of wet weather. We will have more on the timing in the days to come.
