Boston Marathon Bombing Survivor Says 'Chapter Closed' After Testifying
BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Marathon bombing survivor Heather Abbott said she is now able to close another chapter in her life after taking the stand to testify against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
Abbott testified on Thursday in the death penalty phase of Tsarnaev's trial related to the 2013 bombings.

During the bombings, Abbott was severely injured. Part of her leg had to be amputated.
In a Friday post on Facebook, Abbott said Tsarnaev "looked right at me and our eyes met" while she was on the stand.
"I'll never forget what that felt like and I couldn't be happier that I did it," Abbott posted. "It was liberating and very satisfying to tell the jury exactly what the man sitting in that court room did to me. For me, what's important isn't about what lies in his future, it's about what lies in mine and moving forward. Another chapter closed."
Abbott recently launched the Heather Abbott Foundation, which will help provide prosthetic devices for victims of trauma.
