Marathon Bombing Survivor Asks For Prayers For Newborn Daughter

BOSTON (CBS) – A Boston Marathon bombing survivor is asking for prayers for her daughter, who was born prematurely this week.

Rebekah Gregory, who lost her leg in the 2013 bombings, said in a Facebook post that she went to the hospital over the weekend with back pain, but ended up being in preterm labor.

She gave birth to Ryleigh on Monday.

Gregory said she "not only almost lost our baby, but came too close to losing my own life as well."

On Wednesday night Gregory said she was discharged from the hospital. But Ryleigh has a longer road ahead.

"No parent wants to see their child on a ventilator struggling for each day of life," Gregory wrote. "Please covet us in your prayers as we go down this road so that we will have the strength to face what might lay ahead."
