Boston Firefighters Battle Blaze In Charles Street Building

BOSTON (CBS) – Boston firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze Sunday night in an apartment building on Charles Street.

Firefighters responded about 10 p.m. to the fire at 119 Charles St., a four-story brick building.

Fire was found in the walls on all four floors and in the ceiling on the third and fourth floors, Boston Fire reported.

Residents were evacuated and uninjured but Boston EMS reported one firefighter was treated for chest pains and transported to Massachusetts General Hospital.

The basement of the building houses the business Boston Antiques and there is a clothing store on the first floor.

The fire was knocked down just after 11:00.

Damage was estimated at $1 million, according to Boston Fire.
