Santa Arrives By Ambulance To Boston Common

BOSTON (CBS/AP) — Not even a heavy fog in the city could stop Santa.

The jolly old elf was due to fly in to Boston by helicopter — not reindeer-drawn sleigh — on Saturday near Boston Common's Frog Pond.

Santa was scheduled to be aboard a Boston MedFlight chopper to deliver a special message about staying safe during the holidays.

But due to weather conditions, he arrived by ambulance instead to greet families.

Boston MedFlight and the city provided refreshments to families.

Children got the chance to sit on Santa's lap and make their Christmas requests during the event.
