'Boston Winter' Opens At City Hall, Minus Ice Skating Path

BOSTON (CBS) – Though the ice skating path remains closed until next week, the winter wonderland at Boston City Hall will open Saturday afternoon.

"Boston Winter" was scheduled to open Friday, but warm weather and rain caused officials to push back the official grand opening until December 7 at 4:30 p.m.

Mayor Marty Walsh and others will mark the official opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony that day.

But on Saturday starting at 1 p.m., everything with the exception of the skating path and The Chocolate Story will be open to the public.

Visitors will be able to explore shopping chalets and grab food and drinks from vendors in the area.
