Boston Children's Ranked Among Nation's Top Hospitals

BOSTON (CBS) – Boston Children's Hospital is the top pediatric care facility in the country in several categories, a recently released report found.

U.S. News & World Report ranked children's hospitals in ten categories. Out of the ten, Boston Children's Hospital was named top facility in seven categories.

Boston Children's topped the hospital rankings in the cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and GI surgery, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, and urology categories.

In addition, the Dana-Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center partnership was named the top cancer hospital in the country.

U.S. News & World Report has been ranking children's hospitals since 2007 in an effort to help families determine the best place to find medical care for their children.

"These rankings are a testament to Boston Children's Hospital's commitment to providing the best family-centered care across the broadest spectrum of specialties," Boston Children's Hospital president and CEO Sandra Fenwick said.

"It's no longer enough to the be the best in world-class care and groundbreaking research and innovation—to be #1, you must be the leader in keeping families at the center of everything you do."
