Bruins To Loan Pastrnak To Czech Junior Team

BOSTON (CBS) -- David Pastrnak will be taking a quick break from wearing a Bruins uniform -- both the Boston and Providence variety -- to play in the World Junior Tournament.

The Bruins announced Friday that they will loan Pastrnak to the Czech Republic'€™s junior team for the World Juniors, which get underway on December 26. The 18-year-old is expected to join the Czech team next weekend for the tournament, which will be held in Toronto and Montreal.

Pastrnak, who was drafted 25th overall in the 2014 NHL draft, has played 19 games for Providence and five for Boston this season. He scored five goals to go with 15 assists in the AHL, and registered an assist for his first career point during his recent five-game stint with Boston.

The Bruins sent Pastrnak back to Providence on Sunday.
