Boston Named Best City For Sports Fans In New Ranking
BOSTON (CBS) -- This one should come as no surprise to fans of Boston's hometown teams.
The city tops a new ranking of "The Best Cities For Sports Fans," by WalletHub.
The survey looks at how closely fans follow their local team in five major sports, and averages the results. The Bruins are apparently the team carrying Boston in this ranking, with WalletHub finding that Boston is the fifth best city in America for hockey.
Regardless of Boston's recent run of sports successes, experts tell WalletHub that a good sports city supports its teams no matter if they are winning or losing.
"An example would be New York and the Yankees or Boston and the Red Sox," one professor tells the company.
The worst big city for sports fans? Corpus Christi, Texas, according to WalletHub.
