Fight on Block Island Ferry leads to 2 hospitalizations, 7 arrests

Police called to Block Island Ferry after fight reported on board

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. -- A fight on the Block Island Ferry led to two people getting hospitalized and seven people getting arrested Monday night. 

Rhode Island State Police and officers from several communities were at the terminal in Narragansett, Rhode Island, when the ferry arrived. 

Video shows multiple officers jumping onto the ferry before it was docked. Several ambulances and more police officers were seen at the port.   

The seven men and women arrested were all from Providence and Pawtucket, Rhode Island. They ranged in age from 20 to 37. Most were arraigned on one count of disorderly conduct. One person was charged with obstructing an officer and another was charged with having a prohibited weapon. 

It's not clear what prompted the fight.
