Blackstone Drowning Victim Identified As Bellingham Boy

BLACKSTONE (CBS) – A 4-year-old boy, who apparently drowned in Lake Hiawatha on Sunday, has been identified as William Cohen of Bellingham, the Worcester County District Attorney 's office reported.

The boy and his parents were visiting friends on St. Germaine Avenue near the lake and at some point the boy went missing.

A search of the water and surrounding neighborhood began and after about 20 minutes he was found in the lake. CPR was performed on the boy at the scene and he taken to Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, R.I. where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation revealed no signs of foul play but the investigation is continuing, the DA's office said.
