Bill Clinton To Campaign With Martha Coakley In Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Democratic candidate for Massachusetts governor Martha Coakley is hoping her campaign will get a boost from a visit by former President Bill Clinton.

Clinton is scheduled to be at Clark University in Worcester on Thursday.

The event is open to the public, although tickets will be required.

They will be available from the Coakley campaign. Doors open at 2 p.m.

Other Democrats on the November ballot are planning to attend the event, including Maura Healey, who is running for attorney general, and Steve Kerrigan. who is running for lieutenant governor on the ticket with Coakley.

Coakley said she's thrilled to have Clinton's support.

Clinton visited the city last year, speaking to more than 900 Democrats in June 2013 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in support of Edward Markey's successful U.S. Senate bid.
