Beverly Police Officer Hurt In Crash

BEVERLY (CBS) --- A police cruiser was involved in a crash at the intersection of Route 62 and 1A, Tuesday afternoon.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Carl Stevens reports

 

Police tell WBZ NewsRadio 1030, the officer was  injured but they do not believe the officer's injuries are life-threatening.

According to police, the cruiser was responding to a call with its lights and sirens on when it was broadsided by a white sedan.

Fire crews used the Jaws of Life to remove the officer because he was complaining of neck pain.

Both the officer and the driver of the sedan were taken to the hospital. The injuries to the sedan driver are said to be non-life-threatening.
