Ballot drop boxes in Boston to close for Halloween
BOSTON -- Ballot drop boxes in Boston will be closed on Monday because of Halloween.
Other communities have the option to close them at various times Monday to prevent potential vandalism.
Media reports that this office has directed cities & towns to lock drop boxes this evening are inaccurate.

Cities & towns may use their best judgment about drop box security on Halloween. Some cities, like @BostonElections, have chosen to close their drop boxes this evening.
Early in-person voting will still be available in Boston and other communities.
