Bald Eagle Injured In Sterling Released Back Into Wild
STERLING (CBS) -- A bald eagle that was injured earlier this year in Sterling is flying free after weeks of rehabilitation.
A Sterling resident had called for animal control on Jan. 23 when he noticed the eagle was staying put in the same spot on his property for several hours. Officials from Mass. Wildlife were able to track the bird down and transport it to Tufts Wildlife Clinic in Grafton.
Veterinarians determined that the eagle had a dislocated bone, possibly caused by flying into high-tension wires.

After weeks of receiving food, fluids, painkillers and rest, the eagle was released back into the wild on Tuesday at the Wachusett Reservior.
