Back Again: Victorino Placed On Disabled List

BOSTON (CBS) -- Shane Victorino is back on the disabled list.

The Red Sox placed their right fielder on the DL Friday afternoon with a back injury, clearing a path for the newly acquired Yoenis Cespedes to test the Fenway Park outfield.

With Victorino out of commission it's expected that Cespedes (who is not in Friday night's lineup) will take over duties in right. Cespedes was acquired Thursday from the Oakland Athletics for Jon Lester and Jonny Gomes.

For Victorino, this is his third trip to the disabled list this season. He's played just 30 games in 2014, batting .268 with 33 hits and 14 runs scored.
