Bella Bond's Biological Father Arrested In Boston

BOSTON (CBS) – The biological father of Bella Bond was arrested Tuesday, charged with shoplifting from a Boston store.

Boston Police confirmed that Joe Amoroso, the biological father of the girl who was known for months only as "Baby Doe" after she was found on Deer Island, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. at a Home Depot in the South Bay Mall.

Amoroso allegedly had stolen items on him and was stopped before leaving the Allstate Road store.

Police charged Amoroso with larceny over $250.

According to the Boston Globe, Amoroso asked officers if they knew who he was and added "Now you can tell everyone that you locked up Bella Bond's dad."

Bella Bond was laid to rest this weekend at a funeral more than five months after the toddler was found dead in Winthrop.

Rachelle Bond, the girl's mother, and her boyfriend are charged in connection with Bella's death.
