Boston Bruins 50/50 Raffle For Ava Roy Fund Raises $112,000

BOSTON (CBS) - Boston Bruins fans are helping the daughter of fallen Worcester firefighter Christopher Roy.

According to the Boston Fire Department, the 50-50 raffle for the Ava Roy fund during Sunday's Bruins-Sabres game at the Garden raised $112,000. Her father was killed December 9 fighting an early morning fire in Worcester.

Half of the $112,000 ($56,000) will automatically go to the fund and the other half will go to the raffle winner. But, the fire department told WBZ-TV the prize was still unclaimed as of Monday morning.  If no one comes forward to claim the prize, then the entire amount will go to the fund, minus taxes from the prize half.
