Authorities Probe 'Suspicious' Death Of Woman In Lowell Home

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say the death of a woman found in her Lowell home over the weekend is considered suspicious.

Police responded to a call for medical assistance at the home of 52-year-old Elaine Sweeney in the city's Pawtucketville neighborhood at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Sweeney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lowell police and the Middlesex District Attorney's office are investigating.

An autopsy, including toxicology, tests is being conducted on the body.

No additional details were immediately available.
