Auburn Girl Helps Police Catch Break-In Suspect

AUBURN (CBS) – A quick-thinking 12-year-old girl helped police catch a break-in suspect in Auburn.

Police say Clinton Joyce of Worcester was arrested after attempting to break into homes on Hampton Street Monday afternoon.

The 12-year-old girl hid in a closet and called 911 when Joyce allegedly attempted to enter her house.

"He kept tugging on the back door and he's trying to get in," the girl tells the 911 dispatcher. "He's trying to break in and I'm home alone and I don't know what to do."

Before calling police, the girl snapped a picture of the suspect when she saw him trying to break into her neighbor's house.

Joyce was arrested on Route 12.

A pry tool allegedly used by Joyce was located by the Auburn K9.
